CDs won't autoplay

CDs no longer start automatically when I load them.

In Control Panel, System, Device Manager, select the CD drive entry and click Properties. Select the Settings tab and ensure Auto insert notification is selected. Using Registry Editor, open Hkey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer and ensure the value NoDriveTypeAutoRun is 95 00 00 00. Before you attempt to edit the Registry see tip Back up the Registry.

If audio CDs don't play, open Windows Explorer and click View, Folder Options. Select the File Types tab, AudioCD type, click Edit and ensure the Play action is shown in bold. (If not, select it and click Set Default.)
